"My manager keeps putting on schedule weekday shifts despite telling her can only work weekends..."

I specifically told my manager in my interview that I can only do Fri-Sun, but she has previously put me on for a random Tuesday and now again she has put me on the schedule for Wednesday. Is she stupid or something or is it normal for managers to schedule someone on a day they specifically said they can't do, without even checking if they're available.

I didn't even even see my name down for Wednesday so if my coworker didn't message me asking me if I could do it p I would've been in the situation that happened last time they did this where they ring me on the day to let me know that I'm late, but I can't even work that day anyway. They're actually just setting me up I don't understand why she asked what days I can do if she's just gonna put me down for whatever day she feels like.

Range Money2012 · 2 hr. ago She trying you on. Just tell her in writing that you can only work Fri-Sun and copy in her manager. Then for the first few times when she put one of the shifts you can't work, just reminder her of her mistake and at the same time tell you might not catch her error next time. The at the six or seven time don't

AdVaanced77 OP 2 hr. ago • I've been working here for 3 months and I have 3 managers, all of which know I can't work weekdays because I've told them a million times. The one who makes the schedule is just stupid and I'm gonna quit soon anyway

Managers, especially higher up ones, only think of the needs of the business and try to manipulate workers into doing things they said they wouldn't or couldn't do. If they can get you to do it one time, they know you can be broken in with the right amount of pressure.

Stick to your availability, but since you're likely an at-will employee, they can legally let you go if you don't meet their demands. I'd start looking for another job. Document everything you can and leave a paper trail so your current employer can't lie and screw over your future employment.

that_one_wierd_guy · 2 hr. ago tell the manager flat out, my availability is my availability, if you put me on the schedule outside of my availability you're gonna be a man down that day and that's not my issue. put it in writing and send it to their boss as well
